ADVANCING FROM BEGINNING TO INTERMEDIATE–THIS weekend!

Yogis know that there are no true levels in yoga. The advanced practitioner may or may not have his leg behind is head, but he CAN focus his mind instantaneously, bringing Himself to complete peace. This workshop will focus on the intermediate poses (asana) and breath (pranayama) that transform the body and bring the mind to single-pointed focus.
Poses focus on preparations for:
Intermediate back-bends
Splits
Intermediate Forward Folds
Wraps and binds
Meditation techniques
Open to all levels. No physical flexibility needed! The greatest amount of flexibility needed is in your mind.
HEADSTAND WORKSHOP
Saturday, September 24 / Sunday, September 25
Time: 12:00pm -2:30pm / 10:00am – 12:30pm
Learn how to master one the most important yoga postures. The Headstand (Sirshasana) is called “The King of Asanas” because it has profound psychic, physical, and psychological effects.
This workshop is a combination of theory and practice, and we’ll work with pictures to be able to better visualize the adjustments needed to your pose. You will learn correct alignment, how to hold the asana longer, and how to work with balance rather than strength. From the fundamental techniques, fun and advance variations will come.
The headstand workshop is open to beginners, and to all who wish to improve their headstand.
**Note: Attendance in both workshops is optional. Single donation covers both classes**
ARM BALANCING AND GRAVITY SURFING

Time: 10:00am -12:30pm
Arm Balances and Inversions are some of yoga’s most fun and exhilarating poses to practice. In this workshop you will learn to safely defy gravity, strengthen your core, build upper body strength, and begin cultivating awareness of your body being upside down and moving through space. This is a fun workshop meant for all levels. Once you gain your arm-balancing confidence, get ready because party tricks are next!
THE heART OF BACKBENDING

Time: 10:00am -12:30pm
Want to get into some of those advanced backbends? Did you know that backbends are actually heart-openers! Explore the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of backbends, focusing on opening the entire front body and the heart center, and find surrender in these exhilarating postures. Learn the fundamentals of bending all the way back without strain or pain on the lower back. We also learn to lose the anxiety associated with going into the “unknown” back-body. Mastering back-bends has profound energetic and life-changing effects.
About your instructor
Angella has been a devoted yogini for over 12 years. She has practiced a number of styles with pure passion, and focuses on the spiritual and personal growth gained from yoga. She believes that through dedication to yoga and meditation, peace, presence, and happiness flows. Angella is a graduate of the Dharma Mittra 200 hour training. She is also visiting instructor at Dharma Mittra Yoga LA, and holds an intimate weekly class at her home in San Francisco. Your donation will help Angella take her practice to the next level at Dharma Mittra’s 500 hour teacher training in July, 2012.
